The Rainmaker

The Rainmaker by John Grisham is a perfect book. Well, not really, but it is perfect for what it wants to be: a bit of great entertainment based on the workings of our legal system.To be sure, the genre has been exploited to death, but this is one of Grisham's earlier works and that's what makes it so much fun: The story of a young lawyer straight out of law school taking on a major insurance firm - and winning - is just right for a quick read on the beach, which is exactly where I read it and enjoyed it.
