The Testament
The Testament, the latest offering by John Grisham, is really well done: starting with a good premise, fast paced and engrossing. An innocent man is about to be executed when the actual perpetrator of the crime steps forward, albeit in the eleventh hour. This is good Grisham stuff. It would be even better if it read less as a primer on death penalty. There is definitely an agenda here, but I guess even writers are entitled to openly espousing their opinions.
